My work as Lead Game Designer
ELIF is a student game produced during 6 months of work alongside studies in master 1. I was the Lead Game Designer of a team of 5 Game designers, myself included.
We operated on the basis of one Lead per trade, for a total of 5 Leads and a team of 19 people.
My job as Lead GD was to establish a clear vision of the experience we wanted for players with all the other leads. Making sure that this vision was followed in every creation of my team was a key component to make a coherent game with personality.
I learned a lot from this 6 month project, my social skills for dealing with crisis and ability to find solutions were put to the test. Helping my co-workers in the creation of levels, I worked as Narrative designer on the side.
I’m really happy the way the game turned out and to be able to continue its development for my second year of master as Lead Game Designer. That confirmed in my heart that even if I enjoy creating systems and experiences, I love working with a team and helping as much as I can. Lead or Creative director seems to be the types of responsibilities I‘m willing and capable of taking.
